The mega intercollegiate cultural extravaganza, Ethereal 2023 of KCG College of
Technology was held on 13th and 14th October on the campus. A total of 2500 students
including students from the host institution and other Arts, Science and Engineering Colleges
participated in the cultural extravaganza. A total of 35 events like Adzap, Battle of Bands,
BGMI, Block and Tackle, Box Cricket, Channel Surfing, Dance Battle, Debate, Dumb
Charades, Face Painting, Green Screen, Group Dance, Free Fire, FIFA, Futsal, IPL Auction,
Jam, Lights Camera Action, Meme Creation, Mime, Mono Acting, Mr and Ms Ethereal,
Photography, Quiz, Ramp Walk, Rap Battle, Sixty’s Sec to Fame, Ship Wreck, Short Film,
Slam Poetry Solo Singing, Treasure Hunt and Variety were conducted .The events were
judged by experts and celebrities from the fashion and cine industry. Every event saw
enthusiastic and talented participation.
On the first day, 13 th October, the main auditorium resounded with music as various bands
went on stage, fighting it out for the top two positions. The judges certainly had a tough time.
The highlight was the Pro Show in the evening by Pradeep Kumar, the playback singer and
music director, who gave an electrifying performance. The huge auditorium was filled with
his amazing voice. Students were singing along and dancing as he melodiously rendered hit
songs.
On 14 th October the dancers took to the stage with one electrifying performance after the
other. This was followed by the Ramp Walk in which elegantly dressed models flaunted
costumes and attitude in style. The last was a host fashion show where young designers from
the KCG School of Fashion Technology presented a curated modelling of their outfits.The
highlight for the day was the entry in style of the actors Mirna Menon, Kishen Dhass and
Jaffer Sadiq, Dancer Sindhuja Hari and the casting directors, Arun and Aravind.
This was followed by the DJ evening led by DJ Sparrow, who was a great hit among the
students as they danced their hearts out to a list of superb music. He kept the energy levels of
the packed auditorium high and resounding.
The two-day long celebration ended with a valedictory function graced by the multi-faceted
film maker and KCG Tech Alumnus, Mr OV Prashanth. During the valedictory function, in
his address, Mr OV Prashanth, recollected his days on KCG Tech Campus and how the
management and the teachers supported him to shape his career in film industry. Dr Annie
Jacob, Director felicitated the gathering and spoke about the holistic education at KCG
College of Technology. The winners of the various competitions were recognised with
certificates and cash awards.
In short, Ethereal 2023 rocked! Students described it as fantastic, mind blowing, and the most
memorable day, which they would cherish all their lives.
