RAJASTHAN YOUTH ASSOCIATION MADRAS METRO is an association of more than 300 Rajasthani Individuals, which was started in the year 1988. The focus of this association was not just entertainment but it had a Motto – the motto of SERVICE THROUGH FELLOWSHIP. It combined social responsibility along with fellowship & entertainment. This concept lead to the formation of RYA MADRAS METRO TRUST in the year 1993 and subsequently its flagship Project – CHENNAI FOODBANK was launched, which started working with a vision of a “Hunger Free World”.

Chennai Food Bank provides food grains and pulses to various Beneficiary Institutions which includes Orphanages, Old Age Homes, Homes for Mentally Challenged & Differently Abled and Animal Welfare Shelters, in and around Chennai feeding more than 15000 inmates and 1000 animals every month.Chennai Foodbank has now reached the milestone of having distributed over FOUR CRORE MEALS to the underprivileged strata of the Society in this glorious journey of 30 years.

Chennai Food Bank is an ISO 9001:2015 certified organization with extremely transparent systems. The collection of food grains is done through our network of like-minded and generous individual donors and corporates, which in turn is distributed to the needy. Chennai Food Bank has also been in the forefront in providing food grains during natural calamities in various parts of the country.

This year marks the celebratory 30 years of Chennai FoodBank.

In commemoration of the 30th year of service, Chennai Foodbank would be taking 1008 underprivileged Children from various orphanages, destitute homes, home for mentally challenged, etc to TIRUPATI – the abode of Lord Venkateshwara for His Divine Darshan blessings. The children would be taken by a special chartered train on Tuesday, April 25, 2023 at 6.15 am, from Chennai Central Railway Station, in association with Tirumala TirupatiDevasthanams (TTD), Local Advisory Committee, Chennai.
This divine trip to Tirupati is an endeavor of the Chennai Food Bank to provide a day full of happiness and fun to the God’s own children. An effort that would give them satisfaction of the divine blessing and bliss. This would certainly be one their best memories to cherish for a lifetime.

Chennai Foodbank has organized many such events for the underprivileged in the past including a day out for 10,000 children at KishkintaTheme park.

Food grain distribution to the beneficiariesas a part of our monthly Chennai FoodBank activity has also been planned. Some of the beneficiariesAvvai Home & Orphanage, Cancer Institute, Ramakrishna Mission, Annai Women welfare society, Sri Sathya Sai Educare, Clarke School for the deaf.
